The Wet Mountain Valley bordered by the spectacular Sangre de Cristo Mountains to the west, and lies in southern Colorado just over the Front Range.
With peaks rising to over fourteen thousand feet, including the famous Crestone Needles, the Sangre de Cristos were declared a Wilderness Area in 1993.The range offers unparalleled hiking and climbing opportunities in summer, deer and elk hunting in the fall, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter, and a beautiful vista year round! Come experience the clean, fresh air and the serenity of our corner of Colorado.
At the base of the Valley the neighboring towns of Westcliffe and Silver Cliff offer numerous eating establishments, small boutiques, antique shops, a performing arts center, a movie theater, a bowling alley, and a fitness center with an indoor swimming pool.
Visit during the summer months for the High Mountain Hay Fever Bluegrass Festival and the Westcliffe Stampede Rodeo (both in July).
Whether you want to hike, wander through town, attend a cultural event, or just relax, the Wet Mountain Valley has something to offer you!
